SushiTech Meets RamenTech: When East Meets (Deliciously Disruptive) West

From May 8th to 10th, Fukuoka City proudly exhibited its flagship RAMEN TECH Pavilion at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight. Positioned in the All Japan Ecosystem Area, the pavilion featured a curated selection of startups born from Fukuoka’s rapidly growing innovation ecosystem.

Inspired by Fukuoka’s street food heritage, the pavilion adopted a Yatai-style layout, drawing strong interest from investors, partners, and ecosystem builders from across Japan and abroad. The concept played on the theme of “SushiTech of the East, RamenTech of the West,” symbolizing Tokyo and Fukuoka’s complementary roles in Japan’s national startup strategy.

The RAMEN TECH Pavilion spotlighted four dynamic startups currently scaling from Fukuoka:

KAICO Ltd.– A biotech innovator developing cost-effective oral vaccines using genetically modified silkworms. Their novel production platform offers scalable solutions for global health challenges.

Chiral Inc. – A SaaS startup accelerating drug discovery through a powerful cloud-based platform designed for pharmaceutical R&D. Their tools enable faster, data-driven breakthroughs in therapeutics.

MarbleXR Inc. – Specializing in immersive augmented reality applications with digital wallet and NFT integration, MarbleXR is pushing the boundaries of digital interaction across education, gaming, and marketing.

OneAI Inc. – Creator of “ChiChat,” an AI-powered chat marketing solution that helps businesses build deeper customer engagement through conversational automation and personalized outreach.

The booth was jointly operated with support from Colive Fukuoka, a globally recognized residency program that enables international entrepreneurs, remote workers, and creatives to base themselves in Fukuoka for mid- to long-term stays. Colive offers cultural immersion, local business matching, and soft-landing support for foreign talent.

This successful exhibition underscored Fukuoka’s positioning as a leading startup city in Japan, known for its livability, accessibility, and deep support network for founders. The event also helped foster stronger ties between the Fukuoka and Tokyo innovation ecosystems.

There is no I in Fukuoka but there is a U!
